The Britalian Job is a new short film released today by Mini to celebrate BMW's partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB at the 2012 games.
Hot PursuitIt looks very entertaining and features Jodie Kidd, racing-driver, model and car fan, dressed in the requisite black leather of course, as a daredevil motorcycle thief who steals the Olympic medals at dead of night. With only a month to go to the Olympics she makes her getaway through the London night which necessitates the Mini pursuit and hommage to the 1969 film 'The Italian Job'. Who better to chase her and get the medals back than Olympic champions: Daley Thompson, James Cracknell, Jonathan Edwards and Matthew Pinsent who engage in a hot pursuit in red white and blue Minis.
The film is directed by Phil Churchward of Top Gear fame and features loads of really fun stunts by minis and the motorcycle thief, in well-known London locations, including the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.
The motorcycle stunts mainly star Dougie Lampkin, who is an internationally renowned English motorcycle trials rider. During his career he set a series of records including 99 GP wins.
